I’m here with baby, who is nine months old and 7.1 kilos. We haven’t seen Matisse in a few months, she was about eight weeks old the last time we saw her. But, I wanted to show you how to fit on some of the nappies that were used early on. Even though Matisse has grown, she’s bigger, she’s a bit more wriggly and a lot more chatty, but I just wanted to show you how those nappies that were used in the newborn days can still be used quite a long way through.

Hi, it’s Vashti from Nest Nappies, and today I’m here with baby, who is nine months old and 7.1 kilos.
So, we’re going to use the Bubblebubs Bam Bam today. The Bam Bam is a fitted nappy, so every layer is absorbent, and it does need a cover on over the top, but it is shaped to go on nice and easy. So, you have the two pieces, and you’ve got elastic through the legs, and through the back. Now, the little insert here, you just fold it in three, just like that, and just lay it inside the nappy.
Yes, it’s exciting, isn’t it? Now, we’re going to pop that nappy underneath Matisse’s bottom here. And I always like to have it nice and high, sort of in line with the belly button and give it a little bit of a pull out just to make it nice and flat. Then, going to bring the front of the nappy, or the insert up, and I like to grab at the top of the elastics there and bring the elastic up as high as you can, and then you can just fold down the front.
As you can see, Matisse is 7.1 kilos and nine months old, and we can still fold the front of that nappy down. Bring your wings over, and then just pop your snappy on from hip to hip, and down into the groin. So, there we have it. It’s still sitting quite nice and snug, we’ve got a nice, beautiful fit around the legs and we can tuck that into the undie line there, and just there as well.
Now, Matisse is getting a little bit bigger, so sometimes you may find that you might need a little bit more absorbency, because the Bam Bams are designed for a newborn. But, you can get lots more fit out of them. Things that you can use for absorbency are your pre-folds, if you’ve got some pre-folds. Just fold your pre-fold in three, and then just lay it through the centre there. Whoops, hey. Just like that, and pop your cover over the top, and the cover will actually hold that pre-fold in place. Did you drop that? Did you drop that?
Or, something as simple as a face washer. Just folded over in half and popped in the wet zone. That makes the nappy give you a lot more absorbency and lets you get it all the way through until she no longer fits in it. So, that’s baby Matisse who is nine months old and just over 7 kilos still fitting into the Bubblebubs Bam Bam, which is designed to fit from about 1.2 kilos through to eight kilos. Thanks for visiting us at Nest, and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Bye.
